I run Katie Lingo, a content marketing agency in York. I graduated in Spanish and Linguistics before taking an NCTJ course and starting a career in magazine journalism. As things turned digital, I went into marketing agencies where I honed my skills in SEO, CRO, PPC and email marketing – but my heart was always in content. I set up Katie Lingo in September 2016 and the brand has gone from strength to strength. Today, I hold a CIM Level 6 Diploma and proudly offer content marketing and data visualisation services to agencies and small businesses. There’s never a dull moment.
The pandemic has taught me that we cannot underestimate the value of creating genuine connections with others – something I have done through my work with the freelance writing community, and organisations such as York Creatives. I have actively contributed to events such as the Digital City Festival, ‘pivoting’ my content to make it as accessible as possible to all, and the results have paid off. The business is now a six-figure brand and has inspired some of the biggest names in the industry. I’m a fearless content marketer who loves to put her face out there and give something back.
